Thermal insulation tape for manifold and exhaust Powersprint HTX-B
Made of special impregnated glass fabrics, the tape is designed for thermal insulation of exhaust system components that heat up to high temperatures. Within the engine compartment, especially exhaust manifolds, turbocharger accessories, etc.
The tape significantly reduces the level of thermal radiation while lowering the temperature of other components in the engine compartment.
At the same time, our tape stabilizes the operating temperature of insulated exhaust system components extending their life and improving engine performance and parameters.
Fabric exhaust insulation has been used in high-performance sports since the late 1980s and has also found applications in heavy industrial, military, shipbuilding and aerospace vehicles, confirming with its popularity how serious a problem the heat emitted by the exhaust system is.
Installation method:
1. Determine the required length of tape to wrap the exhaust component, using the table below. Be sure to add about 20cm to the total length of the tape for each bend or elbow.
2. Wrap the tape around the beginning of the insulated section of the exhaust pipe and secure with a bend or bobbin.
3. Continue wrapping the element taking care that the tape is well stretched and its individual braids overlap about 5-6mm.
4. After wrapping the entire element, secure the last braid with a pin or cybant.
NOTE!!! : The first start of the engine after insulation should be done outside play in a well-ventilated room. Due to the specifications of the manufacturing process, the tape contains small amounts of oil and other substances, which may cause the release of small amounts of smoke during the first warm-up.
Smoke should cease after about 30 minutes of engine operation. Fibers a glass fibers from which the tape is made may cause slight skin irritation, so we recommend working with protective gloves during installation.
