A Sparco-t 1977-ben alapította Olaszországban két fiatal pilóta - Enrico Glorioso és Antonio Parisi. Céljuk a játékosok biztonságának javítása volt. 1978-ban a Sparco megalkotta az első olyan Kombinezon, amely megfelelt az FIA 8856-2000 homologizációs követelményeinek.
